Constitution
Name: South Island Romanian Association Incorporated
Goals:
1. Increase the knowledge and awareness of anyone about Romania;
2. To create the opportunity for all Romanians to meet with
each other and other Romanians
3. SIRA organizes various cultural, social, athletic events
for its members with the purpose to create links between members
and at the same time develop a Romanian entourage that reminds
the members of Romania.
4. To help new Romanian immigrants adapt to social environment
of New Zealand
5. To establish a Romanian Orthodox Church in Christchurch
area.
Members:
1. The membership in the South Island Romanian Association
Incorporated is open to everyone.
2. Membership fee: $ 5.00/month.
a) Full member
A Full Member can be any person, regardless of nationality
who pays the membership fee.
A Full Member has the right to vote, or to be nominated for
a position on the ExB
b) Friends of the Association
A friend of our Association can be any person that shows his/her
interest in SIRA and gives his/her support to our activities.

| EXPLANATIONS |
1. Any member of categories B
and C does not have the right to vote.
2. Members of the categories B and C do not have the right to
be nominated on the ExB
A) Every 3 months there should be a meeting of information.
One member of the executive should bring a report of what
happened in the last period prior to the meeting.
B) After every activity, a report of all executive members
(ExMs) activism should be given to all ExMs, relating any
link that they had towards the activity.
i) This report should be given at the latest one week after
the activity.
ii) Every ExM should keep their own reports and the reports
of the other ExMs.

E) If one ExM acts against ExB,
or against the ExB's decision, that Exm is not an ExM anymore
and the position is opened to anyone in the association.
F) All ExMs must attend 70% of the executive meetings. If someone
can not attend, the rest of the ExB can vote and eliminate that
person and nominate another person.
G) All ExMs must sign the constitution. If a new position is
available or there is a replacement of an ExM, the new ExM must
sign it.
H) A general meeting with the propose of determining the ExB
for the year follows would be held at the end of October.
I) No amendment is effective unless it is approved by 50% +1
of the voting members of the SIRA.
L) No affiliation is effective unless it is aproved by 2/3 of
the voting members of the SIRA.
Functions of the Executive Body
1. President (P)
a. Represents the SIRA
b. Oversees the organisation of all activities
c. Must be informed and must inform all types of members of
all and any activities linked to the association
d. Must co-ordonate the meetings
e. Must create a hierarchy, a pyramid of the ExMs and all
ExMs must respect his choice
f. Is responsible for the signed constitution (See I)

EXCEPTIONS AND EXPLANATIONS
1) a) In case that the P can not attend the meeting, the P must
appoint another member to preside over that meeting.
2. Vice-president (VP)
a) Is the contact person between the ExB and any kind of member
(see Members)
b) Works in conjunction with the P to organise meeting time
and SIRA events
c) Helps the P in maintaining decorum and order during club
meetings

EXCEPTIONS AND EXPLANATIONS
2) a) VP can and is encouraged to get help from other members
of the SIRA or from outside sources.
3. Vice- president Finance (VPF)
a) Responsible for the budget
b) All money must pass through VPF
Must be present at the meetings which organise a special activity
that requires financing
c) Does not have the power to buy an acquisition without the
approval of ExB.s
